What do you need to hire a skip for?
Skip hire is not an uncommon thing in the UK. That is because skip hire is an integral part of the UK’s waste management system and is indispensible to every person that generates waste which is more than the average household.
So you need a skip to take care of your unwanted rubbish, but you are unsure of where to start? Well, it is always a good idea to start with the basics.
Back to basics
First and foremost, in order to hire a skip successfully you need somewhere to park it. Even if you use the pick up and go option you will still need vehicular access or somewhere for them to park for that period of time. If you have an adequate back yard with roomy vehicular access then you are set. If not you are going to have to investigate whether you can park the skip on the side of the road.
Once you have made sure that you can accommodate a skip you need to sort out a permit. Yes, you may well need a permit to park a skip on the road, even outside your own house, and if you choose the right skip hire company they can even organise the permit for you. Parking spot and permit in hand, all you need to do is get your rubbish loaded and carted off.
Make sure that you do not let the skip stand there for longer than the specified time limit on the permit. You also need to be very wary of notorious night time fly-tippers because they can get you into a lot of trouble by filling your skip with their rubbish.
