Sizes of Skips?

Whilst it may be an exaggeration to say that skips come in all shapes and sizes, there are a variety of different sizes available and they can be suitable for very different purposes.

When deciding that you require a skip for a certain project to handle the large volumes of waste that you are expecting to produce, there are a number of factors to consider.

Whatever project you are undertaking, probably the number one consideration is the size of the skip to hire.

Quite simply, it is better to have one slightly larger than required rather than one too small. Attempting to shift a lot of rubbish or waste, then realising your skip is too small may lead to future headaches when not all your rubbish can be taken away.

The types of skip commonly available are 4 yard midi skips, 6 and 8 yard builders skips, 12 and 16 yard large skips and lastly, the daddy of skips in roll on/ off skips. At Simpsons Skip Hire we can provide skip hire in London and the surrounding areas.

Midi skips are convenient for small scale domestic or commercial use but importantly, often do not have walk-in access which can limit functionality if you have heavy waste. Builders skips are designed for larger volumes of heavy waste that can easily be carried into the skip. The roll on/off skip is a very heavy duty piece of equipment and is not commonly seen on public roads. There are also limits to the type of waste that can be placed in these due to weight issues. These are designed for large volumes of waste and not heavy soil.
