Bigger isn’t always better

One of your biggest dilemmas when planning a skip hire will be ensuring that you hire the right sized skip. Clearly it is easy to work on the principle that the bigger the skip, the possibility of filling it and still having waste left over becomes more remote. Clearly though, bigger skips are understandably more expensive therefore you will want to get one that is almost precisely the right size.

The rule of thumb that goes with skip hire is that, when comparing two sizes of skip which you believe to be around the right size, to select the larger one. This makes it more probable that you will handle all of your waste management needs with one hire and minimal fuss. Too small a skip and you may find the second hire necessitated to be a real annoyance and possibly there may be a real issue with how to and where to secure the waste that didn’t fit first time round.

Under some circumstances, a second, or even multiple skip hires may prove both cost-effective and beneficial to your waste management needs. Knowing you will be producing a lot of waste from a major project may have you arriving at the considered conclusion that one giant skip is the cheapest method of waste disposal. However, your waste may not always be ready all in one easy go. You could find yourself under great pressure to fill your skip quickly.

At Simpsons Skip Hire, we are able to help you make an informed decision about what approach will best fulfil your specific needs.
