Skip hire and recycling

So where does all the rubbish go? If you’ve ever had one of those troublesome visits to a local authority tip, or recycling centre as they are commonly known nowadays, you may have experienced the sneering disapproval of a member of staff as you foolishly selected what you believed to be the correct skip for your particular waste, only to discover that you couldn’t have been more wrong if you had tried.

It isn’t just me, as this tale has been reported many times previously, but there is a serious issue here. Waste no longer just goes into landfill. This is why everybody from home to school to business is investing a multitude of various bins, boxes and bags in order to separate all of the different types of waste. It is also why the recycling centre staff are so keen to get everything in the right skip.

You could be forgiven for believing that skip hire possibly flies in the face of modern thinking regarding recycling. The idea of disposing of a completely varied collection of waste by simply collecting it in one large metal box and having it taken away is almost in complete contrast to the philosophy of modern waste management.

This is not actually the case, though. Simpsons Skip Hire of London is a company that not only collects your waste, but one which actively manages it, ensuring that as much as 90% of it is recycled, minimising the impact on landfill sites.
