The trend in Hollywood in recent years has turned to environmentally friendly public displays and celebrities endorsing green charities. Most of them do not bother to change their lifestyles to live more environmentally friendly.
In the UK the waste disposal crisis is reaching astronomical proportions. This brings the subject of ecological issues home to all of the country’s city dwellers and companies. As cliché as it may seem, endorsing recycling is the way forward.
The 11th commandment: Thou shall recycle
Recycling is not just a way of keeping landfills from spilling over; it is also a way of preserving what is left of the natural environment. By recycling what can be reused less is taken from the environment to make new items. When skip waste is recycled a significant amount less needless rubbish gets dumped into the UKs dwindling land fills.
Not only are landfills filling up fast in the UK but lots of what gets dumped into them is not biodegradable. Recycling plant material from vegetables, gardens and other sources creates compost, putting much needed nutrients back into the earth. Recycled paper and cardboard is used to produce the newspapers of tomorrow and prevents needless deforestation.
Plastics and glass get recycled into the soda bottles and yoghurt cups on the shelves tomorrow. Scrap metal recycling not only saves the environment from the harmful mining of these metals but also save the consumer the costs involved in the mining process.
Recycling the wastes put into a skip not only benefits the diminishing natural resources but also puts a bit back into the consumers pocket.
